Frozen Saab Aero-X On Display in Sweden

The hot gull-winged Saab Aero-X concept from last year's Geneva Motor Show has gone cold. Ice cold that is. Saab's bold concept car has been recreated in ice by ice sculptor Tjåsa Gusfors and Saab chief designer Simon Padian. The frozen Saab is currently on display at the ICEHOTEL in Jukkasjärvi, Sweden.

The ice sculpture of the Aero-X is part of the "Saab Move Your Mind Room" at the ICEHOTEL. This promotion "allows the public to experience Saab – the brand, its spirit, tonality and core values through innovative design installations made wholly from ice."

Saab Turbo X To Debut In Frankfurt

To celebrate Saab's 30th anniversary of their very first turbocharged vehicle, the company will launch the limited edition Turbo X. According to Saab, the Turbo X will feature "innovative features... expected to attract widespread imitation." Not sure what that means...

Critics of Saab have maintained that the brand has lost its edge since the GM takeover. This new model appears to be an attempt to fix that. Saab says the Turbo X will have the classic appeal of the former "Black Turbo" models.

The Saab Turbo X is scheduled to be unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month. We will provide more information on these "innovative features" once they are announced at the show.

Buick Ties with Lexus for #1 in JD Power Vehicle Dependability

Posted Aug 09, 2007 @ 10:22 pm

Today JD Power released their Vehicle Dependability rankings and Buick and Lexus came out on top. The Vehicle Dependability rankings are based on the number of problems consumers have had with their cars since buying them 3 years ago. So this year's rankings reflect how reliable 2004 model year vehicles were built.

Buick jumped from 3rd last year to a tie for first with Lexus at 145 problems per 100 vehicles. Rounding out the top five are Cadillac (162), Mercury (168), and Honda (169). Domestic fans will be pleased to notice that 3 out of the top 5 brands were American.
