Transformers and More To Be At Dream Cruise
Posted Aug 09, 2007 @ 10:47 pm

Everyone's favorite alien robots will be on display next weekend at the Woodward Dream Cruise in metro Detroit. You'll be able to get up close and personal with Bumblebee (Camaro Concept), Iron Hide (GMC TopKick), Ratchet (Hummer) and Jazz (Pontiac Sostice hardtop). The Decepticon killers will be on display in the parking lot of Athens Coney Island.
But the Transformers won't be GM's only vehicles on display. About a mile north of the robots in disgue (the corner of Woodward and Old Woodward, north of Maple Rd in Birmingham) the Chevy Racing Tour, the XM Ultimate Listening Tour, a Pontiac G8 and the Chevy Volt concept will be on hand.
If you're in Royal Oak, you can check out some Chevrolet SS and Cadillac V-Series models that will be shown in Royal Oak's Memorial Park.
Full press release after the jump...

Buick Ties with Lexus for #1 in JD Power Vehicle Dependability
Posted Aug 09, 2007 @ 10:22 pm
Today JD Power released their Vehicle Dependability rankings and Buick and Lexus came out on top. The Vehicle Dependability rankings are based on the number of problems consumers have had with their cars since buying them 3 years ago. So this year's rankings reflect how reliable 2004 model year vehicles were built.
Buick jumped from 3rd last year to a tie for first with Lexus at 145 problems per 100 vehicles. Rounding out the top five are Cadillac (162), Mercury (168), and Honda (169). Domestic fans will be pleased to notice that 3 out of the top 5 brands were American.
Maybe it's about time the public started giving GM its due for making more reliable cars!

First 2008 CTS Reviews Coming In
Posted Aug 07, 2007 @ 9:24 am
Getting to drive the all new CTS? That would be pretty cool. Getting to drive the all new CTS on the Autobahn and the Nurburgring? That's "I just creamed my pants" cool. Recently Cadillac let a handful of automotive journalists do just that. (no word yet on whether any of the journalists actually creamed their pants)
The reviews from those lucky journalists are starting to hit newstands and so far they look pretty positive. Motor Trend and Winding Road both agree that the '08 CTS is a large improvement over the previous model and the best American sedan. They did however have a few complaints such as the engine being coarse at high RPMs.
