Cadillac XLR Getting Restyled?
Posted Feb 28, 2008 @ 10:02 pm

Word on the street is that the Cadillac XLR roadster is set to get redesigned and we could get a sneak peak of it as soon as July. While this is still just a rumor at this point, it seems a facelift for the XLR is entirely possible... and entirely necessary. Sales of the XLR have dropped off in recent years, and the design looks incredibly aged, especially when compared to the new CTS.
If the Cadillac designers can come up with a design as sexy as the CTS, maybe the XLR will finally become the flagship car it was intended to be.

CTS Beats Out BMW, Mercedes in Consumer Reports Ranking
Posted Feb 07, 2008 @ 11:29 pm

The oft-accused import lover Consumer Reports has taken quite a shine to the new Cadillac CTS. Out the of 12 sport sedans that CR tested, the CTS ranked 3rd, achieving an "Excellent" overall score. Falling short were the BMW 328i and the Mercedes C300, which both received "Very Good" scores.
Beating out the CTS for the first two spots in the rankings where the Infiniti G35 and the Acura TL. We don't quite understand how the front wheel drive TL got ranked so highly in the "sport sedan" category, but whatevs.
Press Release after the jump...

Detroit: GM Dominates NACOTY and NATOTY Nominations
Posted Dec 13, 2007 @ 5:21 am
Last year at the Detroit Auto Show, General Motors swept the North American Car and Truck of the Year awards with the Saturn Aura and the Chevy Silverado. Think the General can pull of the repeat? Well it's looking like there's a pretty good chance that it could happen, with GM cars and trucks making up four of the six nominees for this year's award.
Up for NACOTY are the Cadillac CTS, Chevy Malibu and Honda Accord. The new Accord is a nice car... but its lackluster styling leads us to believe that this award is going to either the CTS or the 'bu.
The Hybrid Tahoe, Buick Enclave and Mazda CX-9 are the nominees for NATOTY. The CX-9 provides some good competition for the General's offering. Mazda's popular CUV is stylish, performs well and has already been named Motor Trend's SUV of the year.
General Motor's domination of the award nominations is a clear indication that GM's commitment to product is paying off. Kudos to Bob Lutz and the rest of the GM team!
The NACOTY and NATOTY awards are voted on by 50 North American auto journalists. The awards will be announced at the Detroit Auto Show next month.

2009 CTS-V Spied!
Posted Dec 07, 2007 @ 3:02 pm
The spy photographers at KGP have managed to snap a few completely nude shots of the upcoming CTS-V. Much like the previous CTS-V, the standard grill is replaced by a trapezoidal mesh grill. Another noticable difference is a subtle hood bulge, but the question remains... what exactly is under that hood bulge?
Speculations have been made, no one knows for sure. Just remember, the CTS-V is the car Bob Lutz said would "suck the doors off the M5." So expect at least 500 horses from this bad boy.
Head on over to Edmunds.com to see the pictures.
