RIP Acadia

Think 4 lambda CUV's is overkill? Apparently, so does GM. It appears that the next-generation GMC Acadia is dead in the water. There is also speculation that the Saturn Outlook might bite the bullet as well, leaving only the Buick Enclave and the Chevy Traverse.
While the Acadia was a handsome crossover, we can't say we are too surprised at this news. After all, the Acadia isn't really a proper truck since it has uni-body construction.
Some will speculate that the cutting of products from GMC's already thin portfolio could mean that the brand is getting the axe. It would seem possible as GMC basically sells nothing more than rebadged Chevy trucks, but we don't necessarily agree. With the consolidation of GMC, Pontiac and Buick dealers, there really is no reason for any of these brands to have a very full lineup.
